First Entry~!

i'm going to be using this as a learning journal of sorts in case anyone's wondering ^-^ Will update with new information here before moving them to the links at the side...those marked with a star are still inactive.

mwahahahaha...so, first up are Hieroglyphs since i'm working on them now. They will hopefully make a daily appearance here in the following format. More information will accompany them should i learn more about it. They will be sorted alphabetically according to their transliteration.

(and in case anyone is wondering how i picked up Japanese by myself, it was like this...yesh, i am THAT anal. Hopefully, i will be equally as successful here.)

: From WikiHiero

Code: Developed by Sir Alan Gardiner in the late 1920s and is a standard of encoding Hieroglyphs. More here.

Transliteration: Used to represent Egyptian writing which leads its reader to the word's transcription.

Transcription: Phonetic values aka how it should be read. I suppose these are like romaji to Japanese and han yu pin yin for Mandarin.

Meaning: Dictionary Equivalent?

Background: Any background significance i can find in relation to the glyph. Makes learning them easier don't you think?

Photos: During my stay in Egypt, i must admit i took alot of photos, but very few of them are actually of hieroglyphs, but i will insert them were i can.

Having said that, here's a table of how the coding system works for my own reference since i keep forgetting it's order.
